Notice: Federal Government Partial Shut Down

The partial shutdown of the Federal Government is adversely impacting many Maryland residents. The Maryland Insurance Administration is aware that some carriers are considering, among other things, deferring premium payments, extending grace periods, and waiving late fees and penalties that would normally be owed as a result of a late payment. Please be assured that if a carrier determines to make accommodations for affected workers, it will not risk any negative findings in an examination. The MIA is committed to protecting our Maryland consumers who are impacted during this very trying time.
