In 2025, the Maryland General Assembly passed HB 995/SB 776, requiring the Maryland Insurance Administration (“MIA”) and the Health Service Cost Review Commission (“HSCRC”) to jointly staff a workgroup to study the rise in adverse decisions in the state health care system (the “Workgroup to Study the Rise in Adverse Decisions” or the “Workgroup”). The Workgroup to Study the Rise in Adverse Decisions meeting three will meet virtually on Thursday, May 7, 2026, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm. Meeting four is scheduled for Thursday, June 11, 2026, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
