Private Passenger Automobile Insurance Affordability Workgroup
Main_Content
2025 Maryland Laws Ch. 395 (H.B. 1098) directs the Insurance Commissioner to chair a workgroup charged with studying and reporting to the Governor and General Assembly on issues relating to the affordability of private passenger automobile insurance in the State. The report outlining the workgroup's findings and recommendations is due by January 1, 2026.
In furtherance of the workgroup's study and the development of the required report, the workgroup will hold a series of virtual public meetings. Meeting dates, agendas, and materials will be posted below. Material that is considered by workgroup members, but not necessarily specifically discussed at any workgroup meeting, will also be posted below. Members of the public will have the opportunity to sign up in advance to provide live feedback on the topics to be covered at each meeting, after the Workgroup's discussions, as time and technology allow.
