Continuing Education

​​Note: All licensed insurance producers, regardless of age, are required to comply with Maryland's continuing education requirements. (COMAR 31.03.02.03; Bulletin 13-07 and Bulletin 13-10)

** Effective October 1, 2017 each Insurance Producer who possesses a license to sell property and casualty insurance and who sells, solicitis, or negotiates bail bonds shall receive four hours continuing education that directly relates to bail bonds.**

PROMETRIC is the Maryland Insurance Administration's vendor for continuing education services. For information regarding course offerings or to view your continuing education transcript, please visit Sircon.com or call 1-800-324-4592.

An insurance producer may obtain all or part of the credit hours of continuing education required for renewal of a license from correspondence or online courses approved by the Commissioner.

If you are attempting to renew a resident producer license, please note that course providers have 10 days to report your successful completion of a course to Prometric. If you have taken a course that has not yet been "banked," mail your application and renewal fee directly to the Maryland Insurance Administration prior to your license expiration date to avoid paying the additional $100 reinstatement fee.
