MIA’s Licensee Portal Modernization: Carrier Actions Requested

The Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) is upgrading their Licensee Portal (used to access complaint filings, appeals & grievance filings etc.) as part of a system modernization effort.

The current portal will be retired on November 15, 2026.

Starting November 16, 2026, carriers will access a new Licensee Portal to manage all tasks and communications with the MIA. Please note that this does not impact form and rate filings which will still be handled in SERFF.

Please read this notice carefully. There are steps carriers should take before and after the transition date, November 15, 2026.

Actions carriers should take before November 15, 2026.

The current portal will not be available to carriers at the close of business on November 15th.

  1. Download any documents or records you need. Save copies of any correspondence, files, or case information from the current portal that you wish to retain for your records.

  2. Download information related to closed tasks. Closed task history will not carry over to the new portal. If you need documentation of previously completed tasks or cases, download it now.

  3. Try to close any open tasks that require your action. If you have outstanding tasks in the current portal, please try to complete them before November 15th wherever possible.

  4. Notify your IT team about network requirements. The new portal runs on Salesforce and uses Box for secure file storage. To ensure uninterrupted access when we go live, please ask your IT team to allow the following domains on port 443 (HTTPS) before November 16th:

  • *.box.com

  • *.salesforce.com

Because Salesforce operates on a dynamic cloud infrastructure, MIA recommends whitelisting by domain name rather than by static IP address.

MIA's new Licensee Portal goes live on November 16, 2026.

Beginning on November 16th, carriers can access the new Licensee Portal at:

https://marylandinsurance.my.site.com/portal

Please note the following about the new portal at launch:

  • Closed tasks from the current portal will not appear in the new portal. The new portal begins with a fresh task list.

  • After November 16th, MIA staff will be manually moving some task items over and will follow up regarding any tasks that were open or required follow-up at the time of transition.

  • If you need information about tasks or cases that were handled in the old portal, please communicate with your MIA contact directly; that information will not be available through the new portal.

Questions or need help?

If you have questions or experience any issues accessing the new Licensee Portal, please refer to the attached guide for step-by-step instructions on how to access and use the new portal.

If you need additional support using the new Licensee Portal, please email [email protected] with the specific issue you are facing and a contact to discuss the issue. Please do not contact complaints staff with IT questions about accessing the Licensee Portal.

The MIA appreciates your collaboration during this transition.
