Filing Requirements for Advisory Organizations

In accordance with Section 11-221 of Insurance Article, Annotated Code of Maryland, an Advisory Organization entity must comply with certain filing requirements prior to doing business in Maryland.

  • Initial application
  • Copy of its constitution, articles of agreement or association, or certificate of incorporation
  • Copy of bylaws, rules, and regulations that govern its activities
  • List of its members
  • An agreement the Commissioner may examine the advisory organization in accordance with Section 11-225 of the Insurance Article, Annotated Code of Maryland
  • An appointment of the Commissioner as agent for the acceptance of service of process. Include the name and address of a resident of the State on whom may be served notices or orders of the Commissioner or process issued at the direction of the Commissioner.
