​Commercially insured Equivalent Private Insurance Plans (“EPIPs") authorized under Maryland's Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Program are insurance products that are jointly regulated by the Maryland Insurance Administration and the FAMLI Division of the Maryland Department of Labor. Insurers intending to offer commercially insured EPIPs in Maryland must file policy forms and rates with the Maryland Insurance Administration for review and approval prior to selling these plans.
