Office of the Attorney General

​Acts as legal advisor and counsel to the Commissioner and all units of the Maryland Insurance Administration. Specifically, the Attorneys General interpret the Maryland Insurance Article and related laws to provide legal advice to the Commissioner and agency; preapprove for legal sufficiency all agency regulations and administrative actions; represent the Commissioner before all State courts; defend the Administration's actions on appeal; and handles court subpoenas for documents in the Administration's custody.
