Robert Baron serves as the Associate Commissioner for the Property & Casualty Section of the Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) where he oversees the review of rates and forms filed by insurance carriers, as well as the investigation of consumer complaints. As the Associate Commissioner, Robert serves as the MIA’s P&C subject matter expert in Annapolis and in other public forums. He started with the MIA in 2000 as an insurance investigator and also served as the Director of the Property & Casualty Complaints Unit for four years.

Robert began his career in the property and casualty insurance industry in 1985 as a multi-lines claim adjuster with Amica Mutual. During the next 15 years, Mr. Baron worked in claims, training and development, and claims management with Crum and Forster, Integrity Insurance, Maryland Casualty and Erie. Mr. Baron is a resident of Baltimore County and a graduate of Towson University.
